Work Hard. Strive for Excellence. GREAT things happened!

GREAT job this weekend to all involved!
> Members - be sure to thank your parents for supporting you in this crazy activity! This wouldn't be possible without them!
> Parents - be sure to thank your kids for working so hard and showing commitment beyond what is typical for their age bracket!

HMK scored an 83.70 and had the highest music, visual, and effect scores in the show. This is the highest Opening Knight score in our history and is a remarkable achievement for our organization!

On behalf of the entire staff, "THANK YOU" to all involved for your passion and dedication!

Video Study
There are multiple videos surfacing (HMK 2013 Facebook Group) that can serve as fantastic educational tools. It is VERY difficult for members to understand exactly what the total package looks like - now you are able to see just how very important PRECISION and UNIFORMITY are to the effectiveness of each production!

Each member should watch the video three times and generate a list of SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound) that you can address this week during rehearsal. You do not need to do this on your own...feel free to get together during flex periods (Tech Lab or the Big TV) and ask experienced members for assistance!

1. Watch the video for your own enjoyment. Are there any performance issues that prevent you from completely immersing yourself in the show?

2. Watch the video with the sound off and follow yourself and your section. Look at things like timing in the feet, spacing, and straight leg technique. Create a VISUAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN for yourself that you can address this week.

3. Watch the video and focus on the musical component. Listen for timing, quality of sound, intonation, dynamics, and phrasing. Create a MUSICAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN for yourself that you can address this week.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Thank you to everyone who videotaped the performance - you are making a HUGE contribution to the educational process that will lead to major improvements in short order. We hope that you can continue to capture performances and post them!
